Advocating, Educating, and Making a Difference

TAM’s Mission

To provide educational services to families and pet dogs with a commitment to prevent unnecessary surrenders or excessive dogs at large. We actively support shelters through volunteering, rallying volunteers, & organizing mobile adoption events, thereby strengthening our mission's impact.

We are happy to introduce you to TRAINING ALLIANCE MOVEMENT (TAM for short) - a 501(c)(3) non-profit - January 2023.

Initially, our mission involved educating families on their dog’s behaviors, hoping to reduce surrenders to our local shelters by providing a service of making ourselves available at events & parks. Recognizing a need at our rural shelters, we pivoted (something we’ve really gotten good at) & are now adding mobile adoption events in the Jacksonville/St Johns County area at least 3 times a month to help find amazing homes for dogs residing in our overcrowded shelters. Our adoption events include access to a free training session with a certified trainer, availability of dog crates to borrow to help acclimate your new pup, and access to experienced fosters to help your pup transition into his/her new family!

We are also rallying volunteers to go out to our Putnam Shelter to walk dogs & take pictures to help promote them on social media (see Petfinder above!). This rural shelter is next to a landfill, and is easy to miss as you need to drive through a WastePro parking lot to find it. This shelter is one of many that are overcrowded and underfunded.

If you are interested in a dog on Petfinder, reach out to Putnam shelter and we can coordinate bringing dogs to our adoption events so you can meet them locally before making a decision to adopt!

Together, we are making a difference in the lives of dogs in need!
